“A couple of key considerations says to me, one, getting the price on carbon is essential. It is necessary. I’m not sure it’s sufficient,” said Kathleen McGinty at a 2007 Brookings Institution forum in support of the need for carbon pricing to fight climate change. McGinty’s website says, “Climate change presents a serious global threat to our health, economic well-being and national security. In the Senate, I will lead the way to a healthier and safer environment by working to pass commonsense climate protections with investments in energy efficiency and clean energy.”
Karyn Strickler, president of Vote Climate U.S. PAC said, “We believe that Katie McGinty has a deep knowledge of the issue and the urgency around climate change. She is one of our 3, top priority U.S. Senate candidates in part because she understands the need for a carbon tax.”
